If you suffer from acne, you probably are suffering from whiteheads. Caring for whiteheads is usually a simple and painless process. Here are some tips on the best ways to care for whiteheads.
Whiteheads are pimples that have a white tip. Whiteheads are caused by sebum which is an oily substance that clogs the hair follicles of the skin. When a hair follicle is clogged, bacteria begin to feed off the sebum and the hair follicle becomes infected. The white head includes bacteria, sebum and dead skin. When you pop a whitehead, you can usually see the substance ooze out of the pimple.
Caring for whiteheads is usually an easy process. Many whiteheads can be popped, however you should consult with a pharmacist or dermatologist to learn the proper way to pop a whitehead pimple. Whitehead pimples must be popped carefully. If you don’t care for your whiteheads properly you can actually spread the bacteria, sebum and dead skin around your face, paving the wave for a new pimple break out to occur.
There are many treatments that can care for your whiteheads, many of them include an antibiotic such as soaps and acids that not only kill bacteria but gently help exfoliate the skin. When caring for whiteheads make sure that you wash your face with warm water and never use an abrasive towel to dry your face. Following these tips will lessen the opportunity for your skin to become irritated and lower the opportunity for new acne outbreaks to occur.
